Well, first things first....I HATE GLOGSTER
If you read my regular blog before, you'll know what I'm talking about, but if not....
Glogster is basically a program where you can make posters.....and it is a HORRIBLE website.....
It's really hard to use, and it's very unpredictable.......the problem I encountered when I was making my poster for this project was that for some odd reason, the pictures won't upload, but you can't copy and paste it either.....I spent about an hour trying to do something about the problem (including shutting down my computer twice) but it won't get ANY better.....so in the end I just gave up and pasted everything on Powerpoint, something that I could rely on without going all coukoo on me......
Yep, what could have taken me half an hour took me 2 hours =.=
While I was doing this, I learned a lot about the animals of Manzanar....there are basically 6 main animals that live there.
BECAUSE NO ANIMAL CAN SURVIVE THERE......
Just kidding....
But what I think we can improve is make the poster bigger so the audience can see it better.....
But seriously, I think we did pretty well....
HAHA.
Now get this....this is a JOURNAL...this is NOT a DIARY...got it???

What makes a community?
A community is where many people are gathered in one place, usually living in an area.
What makes a community?
It's the trust between people.
There are sometimes gardeners, rule fussers, skaters, athletics, lazy people, and even crazy or spooky people in a community......
There are maybe even restaurants, houses, parks, 7-11 (not in all cases, but have you seen Taiwan's 7-11's? If you did, you'll understand what I'm talking about), and sometimes even banks.
The people work together to sustain the community and sometimes help each other out, such as lemonade stands, car washes, or volunteering for different activities.
Communities can only form when the group of people are trusting each other and can depend on each other, even if they might not agree all the time and are different people.

What Happens When Friends Compete?
Friends compete. In fact, they compete all the time.
In sports, grades, for scholarships, and even for internet connection (only me? okay then).
For example, I compete with a lot of my friends in Sports Day, but we are still friends :)
But in the Amigo Brothers, they compete for the championship, and they are afraid that their friendly bond will break because of the competition. And that it will create a wall between them.
What could happen is that they will try to win without hurting each other, in this case, by knocking them out as quick as possible so that they would win without physically hurting each other.
In the end of course, they remain best friends and walk away from the ring, knowing that they are both winners in their hearts.
But in some cases, friends might become enemies or they just stop being friends. When this happens, they should try to give themselves some time away from each other and make up slowly. You can't just let a little competition get between your friendship bond.
Competition always happens, whether big or small, sometimes, you don't even realize that you're competing.
But there is a difference between friendly competition and destructive competition. In friendly competition, you usually compete for who sold the most items in a Spring Fair. And friendly competitions are usually motivating us to work harder and doing better. Destructive competition can actually hurt one's self-esteem in the process, whether the opponent meant to do so or not.
If you encounter a competition with your friend, try not to hurt each other or get it between each other.

Theme of Amigo Brothers
1. Friendship is more important than winning.
This is pretty obvious isn't it =.=
Felix and Antonio didn't let the competition get in the way of their friendship, simple as that.
2. Competition cannot break friendship.
In the end, Felix and Antonio walk away from the ring, still buddies.
3. Strong friendships can survive even the toughest times.
Even though the competition is slowly coming up, and Felix and Antonio worry about each other, they decide to separate themselves from one another. And even though they both faced each other in AN EPIC BATTLE (just kidding) they still remained best friends.
4. Friends care about each other.
Felix and Antonio want to win, but at the same time, they both worry about hurting each other, and how they can prevent that. They think about ways to defeat each other, without meaning to hurt them. And also, they worry that the EPIC BATTLE (haha, I like that) will create a wall between their friendship.

Who deserves a second chance?
Someone who is determinated, who has admitted their mistakes and wants to fix it or start over.
For example, a student who forgot about his/her homework, deserves a second chance...unless he/she did not really forget it, he just didn't want to do it.
If someone like, I don't know, Osama Bin Laden wanted to have a second chance, he probably would have been shot and stabbed to death.....
But if he was truly ashamed of what he did and is determined to change himself, he might actually get a second chance.
If you made a horrible mistake that is probably so bad that you don't want to continue life, it really depends on what you do to fix it and get a second chance. If you just moan and groan about it everyday, and waste your time being sad, it's likely that you don't get a second chance. Mistakes aren't going to fix themselves. But, if you try to fix it, and do everything to get life straight, the possibilities are that you are going to be offered a second chance.
For example, you accidentally reveal an embarrassing secret of a friend. And if you just wait for your friend to forgive you, it's likely that it's never going to happen. But if you put the past behind you and sincerely apologize to him/her, he or she would forgive you; but if not, then maybe it's just that you need to try harder or that he/she is probably not worth to be friends with.
So yeah, if you want a second chance for something, give yourself some time to fix the problem you made, and you will be given a second chance :D
Take care guys ;-)

The themes of 7th grade
The first theme that is really obvious is that "love makes people do stupid things", for example, at the scene where Victor speaks French to impress Teresa. Normally, Victor would have been too shy to raise his hand to volunteer, much less fake speaking French. But he was willing to do it for Teresa and trying to impress her. And it was incredibly stupid of him to do that because he doesn't know how to speak French AT ALL.
The second theme is that "people will do anything for who they love". Victor signed up many classes JUST so he could see her more often and eventually impress her so that she would go out with him.
"Don't rely on magazines to impress people, just be yourself." Victor tried taking advice from Michael, who got the idea from GQ magazine that scowling can help impress and attract girls (by the way, that is the most stupid thing I've ever heard). He realizes that when he is more relaxed and less flustered, he could talk more calmly to Teresa and also impress her.
"Making good impressions"is also very important. As Victor tries to get Teresa to like him, he first figures out how to catch her attention and impress her. He tries to look everywhere for her but he seems to never be able to see her, finally at French class, he sees a chance and tries to impress her with French. And also, in the beginning of the story, she talks to Victor, and Victor replies with a stupid answer (eventually scolding himself inside). So it is very important to watch what you speak if you want to make a good impression.
So that is what I think the themes are for the story, 7th Grade, by Gary Soto.

What stands in the way of your dreams?
There are many obstacles that stand in the way of your dreams.
They could be people, school, pressure, or even in some cases, crazy psycho dogs that tear apart flesh.
Some people who would like to be a vet, would have to graduate medical school.
Some want to be Broadway stars.
Others who want to fly, have to wait 5,000 more years for the technology to improve to a point where it can make you fly.
Sadly enough, I don't have a dream, or more like....I don't know what I'm going to do when i grow up....
Well, mainly try to get into a good college, and afterwards, get rich and live an awesome life (can be anything, from traveling all around the world to finding a good place to settle down and eat)....
But everyone wants that doesn't it?
Except for those who want to fly in the air like a superman with apples circling around him/her.
I KNOW!!!
I want to be a Youtube star!
Teehee.
But first, I have to focus on my school work.......
So when I bust out of school, I will fulfill my dream :D

What has the power to heal?
1. How people cope physical injuries or disabilities
- Try not to let people laugh at you or insult your for your disability
- Don't think of it that much, think happy thoughts to focus anything but the pain
- Get help or advice from doctors, professionals, or even friends
- Try activities where your injury or disability won't hold you back
- Let the injury gradually heal until you can do what you normally do
2. How people deal with emotional pain
- Think of happy thoughts, distract yourself from it; the more moody you think you are, the more sad and dark you are
- Spend more time with friends or people who make you happy, good friends are always there for you, talk to them, go shopping with them, play video games with them, I don't know, something
- Give yourself sometime to calm down
- Don't let the pain overcome you
People cope physical injuries by letting it heal and letting it rest, so that it could quickly return to its original state. Usually with the help of a professional On the other hand, disabled people would not let the teasing of people sink into them and try not to let their opinions overcome them. These people tend to try and think of other more important things, or happy thoughts, to distract themselves from the pain. They also do this to realize what they can still do to keep them busy and still excel at.
Sometimes you get moody. Or flustered. Or even brokenhearted. What should you do when you meet the situations? First--and most importantly--you must give yourself time to calm down. If your head is clearer, the pain subsides easily. Distraction always helps, people like to think of happy thoughts and do something to keep them company so that they can put the pain aside and focus on other things (without the pain effecting them and breaking them down, of course). Don't let the pain overcome you, instead spend more time with friends and family, people who make you happy can cheer you up and get your mind of the pain.
What these two have in common is that: both types of pain--whether physical or emotional--are hard to overcome. But not impossible. People who deal with these issues like to distract themselves from the pain. Asking for advice is also quite common and helpful. And most importantly, people who suffer from these types of pain refuse to let it overcome them or rule their life. If you let your disability rule your life, you will never be happy. Instead, turn it into an advantage. Don't let people talk about you because of what you can't do. Instead make them whisper in awe of what you can do better than a normal person can. Don't let emotional pain overcome you. It will make life gloomy. Think of the bright side of life and move on.

What makes a crowd turn into mob?
Sheep.
That's what.
Everybody is a sheep, you know you are....don't deny it.
A couple people start yelling flying pig and everyone else starts to nod.
It's just like "the Emperor's New Clothes"....
A crowd starts spreading a rumor and everyone else will follow them, even though they don't know what's going on.......It's just psychology.......Humans have a tendancy to just follow others when they're not sure where to go or what to do, because it seems like the people walking in one direction are right and sure about where they're going.
A crowd starts out small, then more and more people join the crowd as it expands and more people join, and then it becomes a mob...
A few people suggest and idea that's probably not true or maybe it is, and other people start to believe in that idea and follow their lead.......
Strange.

Facts
It is important to be sure of all your facts before you speak up about something serious.
Why?
It would humiliating and awkward if you don't know all your facts and information to a something serious while you're discussing.
Imagine talking about a car crash when you suddenly say: "it happened on Maple Street", but that's not true, it happened on a high speed rail.
How embarrassing is that?
Plus you might say something incredibly disrespectful that is not true.
If you get your information right, you won't make a mistake, and when someone asks you a question about a topic, especially something serious, you want to make sure you know how to answer the question that wouldn't mislead them....
For example, while talking about a serious topic like the funeral of the Japanese prime minister, it wouldn't be appropriate to say: "they threw hamburgers at the prime minister in the funeral, and also eat candy with the rice that is provided".
That is why it is important to get your facts straight.
By the way, according to the Japanese, the one food that you never eat with rice is candy.

What makes you brave?
Well, there must be a motivation for you to do something brave.
There are many times where you can be brave: singing in a talent show, standing up for your friend to a bully, or even just presenting in front of the entire school a speech.....But what persuaded you to do that?
It might be emotions, or motivations, or even desires that push you to be brave. There are just moments where you have to be brave.
For example, you see your best friend there eating a cookie, and out of no where a bully comes over and makes fun at his/her glasses....what would you do???? You wouldn't just sit there right???? That's when you strike back...That's when you become brave....
You let the anger and the annoyance become your power and energy to stand up to the bully, you don't get anything in return, so why do you do it???
Simple, a motivation.

Why pets are good companions
What makes a pet a good companion is that:
- pets stay by your side no matter what
- You won't feel so lonely
- you interact more with your pets
- dogs can guard your house
- you learn to care for animals and how to be responsible
- they are fun to watch
- you can play games with some of them
- you can relax and enjoy the experience of taking care of a pet
- they give you topics to write about at school
- they are usually affectionate and tame to the owners, making them feel better
- you can talk to them once in a while to let out your feelings
- you can learn more about your pet's species
There are all sorts of pets you can have: a bunny, gecko, dog, cat, lizard, guinea pig, etc....
And all of them are nice, as long as you take good care of them and cherish them =)

most embarrassing moment
One of my most embarrassing moments:
It was a time when I was six years old, and I was with my mom's side of the family (including my cousins, aunts, uncles, etc). And I told my mom that I need to go to the bathroom, and to be accurate, I whispered so I could get the message across to her. And guess what she did...
She said aloud, "SHE NEEDS TO GO PEE!!!" and it was in Chinese so....you get the idea of how embarrassing that was.
Thanks mom.
Well, it actually happened A LOT, not only once. But that the most embarrassing, of all the times where I needed to go to the bathroom.......
After that, I talked to her about it, so..well, she stopped....
And probably because I don't really go to the bathroom when I'm around her.....

Good impressions
Ever wonder how you can make a good impression on someone???
First impressions are a good factor.....If you make a good first impression, continuing to make a good impression will be fairly easy. If a person already hates you...it'll be hard to make a good impression to him/her.
Follow these rules:
1. Be polite to the person, no one likes a person who has a mean personality....
2. Do not insult the person.
3. Do not offend or upset the person.
4. Try to be more likable to the person you want to make a good impression on but don't overdo it, it'll make you look fake.
And that's pretty much it....it's not really that hard to make a good impression on someone...just be yourself.... People like you for who you are :)

First Blog
So yeah...I opened a blog. Woohoo
But honestly though, it wasn't that hard. But the real pain in the butt was to connect to the internet.
PAS's internets somehow don't connect to my computer. Finally I had to ask my dad to come to the school to see what the problem was. Then my computer connected, which is pretty strange because he didn't change any of the settings. =.= so... I guess maybe the computer just needed to get used to the school's poor internet.
So there...here I am writing my blog.... I don't consider it hard to set up a blog, I just got really irritated when I had to walk around a room to hunt for an internet hotspot.
And that is all~
